Memorial Day Weekend

Ahh…one of the best weekends we've had!  The beautiful weather, the fun family time, and the relaxed pace all combined to make my brain believe that summer break had already begun!  What a letdown it was on Tuesday morning when the alarm went off to remind me…You're almost there, but you're not quite done yet! :)

Saturday morning we were out the door early for a ride on the bike trail.  When we do this, the three older kids ride bikes and we bring the push buggy for Jayce, but he usually ends up running most of the time.  We had some playground time afterwards, then home for lunch and naps/quiet time, and we ended the day with a picnic dinner at a park.

Sunday morning we tried to squeeze in some much-needed batting practice on the diamond at the city park.  Then in the early evening, the kids enjoyed their second chilly swim of the season.  These kids are nuts…it really is sooooooo cold!!

Shortly after this pic, the swing broke and Jayce fell out!  Oops!

Monday morning we got dressed in our red, white, and blues and headed to watch the Memorial Day parade/service in town.  This is really the first year that I thought the kids would be able to understand and take something away from what was happening.

I'm not naming names, but someone was a little grumpy...
