We actually didn't head out to the living room until sometime after 8 o'clock!! Unheard of!! Jaxson was up early at 6, but we convinced him to hop back in bed with us to get just a bit more shut-eye. And considering he was still up after midnight Christmas Eve, he easily fell right back to sleep!
The kids were so excited and dug into their stockings first. They found new toothbrushes, chocolate treats, ornaments, monster trucks (for the boys), and a necklace (Emersyn).

Ha ha…I guess Christmas Day is just like any other day when it comes to laundry on the loveseat!!

Oh my gaaaaaaaaw…this enormous stuffed unicorn. Kris just had to get it for Emersyn, and I pleaded with him to return it. He lost the receipt. I mean…we don't have room for this!!! :)

A neat gift for all the kids: a doorway puppet theater and animal puppets! So fun!

The kids loved all their gifts and were super excited about everything they received! Brody especially loved his new Lego set…the only thing he asked for was an ambulance, a stretcher, and an injured guy (LOL), and those were all included in the Lego set. They all received sleeping bags from Kris and me, and they thought those were pretty special, too!

Just before noon we arrived at my sister's house for brunch (always egg casserole and German pancakes…and always delicious) and celebration with cousins and Grandpa.

When we returned home, we sang "Happy Birthday" to Jesus before taking naps.

Then we dressed up in our Christmas outfits and made the one-hour trip to Norwalk to celebrate some more with my grandma, aunts, uncles, and cousins!
It was such a long, full day with lots of excitement (and a little stress, of course). The kiddos were exhausted by the time we got home and went right to sleep. As always, they are so lucky to have received many thoughtful gifts from those who love them!
Some memories...
