P. Nutty

I found a really excellent blog that I've been following recently. The author is a mother of two girls, one of whom has severe, life-threatening nut allergies. One of her posts highlighted these adorable rubber bracelets that warn others of a child's food allergy/allergies.

The little character's name is P. Nutty, and this is his story:

Do you remember when I was the spread
on every kid's sandwich with jelly on bread?
Nowadays, I'm often shut out
From parties and planes
and school lunches--no doubt.
It's really a shame
I'm sick and I'm sad
That a peanut like me
Can make a kid feel so bad.
