Gingerbread Morning

We had a fun morning with the Binkowski family today! We were up bright and early and headed over for a breakfast of fruit, yogurt, and french toast casserole.

Then it was time for gingerbread houses! Drew and Tracy had already baked and assembled the houses, so the kids were able to get right down to business.

This was so much fun and one of those things that will just keep getting better every year. This year, it was quite the job keeping everyone from eating all the candy instead of using it to decorate the houses. We were also down one set of hands because Kris was sleeping from working the night before. A hot cocoa "bar" was also planned, but we decided to scratch that, and I have these cute little gingerbread cutouts that I was going to use to make awards (Most Decorated House, Most Colorful House, etc.), but I ended up leaving them at school. We should've given out an award for Most Candy Eaten (Brody) or even Most Candy Chewed Up and Spit Out (Emmy). LOL!
