Whew. I'm not sure I've recovered from this one yet. :) First, there was the insane heat and humidity that made it just unbearable to be outside unless we were at the pools. Second, we had crabby kids from insufficient naps and not enough sleep at night. And third, Jax and Jayce both had congestion and runny noses and, consequently, slept horribly...annnd woke the other two up on several occasions.
I wonder sometimes why we even do this to ourselves and ask myself at least once on these camping trips, Is it really worth it??? But I know that it is. It's not just their excitement and enthusiasm in the days leading up to a camping trip. It's all those special little family moments that sometimes don't even make it onto this blog. The kids dancing up on the beds; fits of giggles coming from one...and then two...and then three kiddos who are supposed to be falling asleep; the stares we get from people when our herd of six plus all our accessories enter into the pool area (would that be awe? amusement? sympathy??); having a snuggly child fall asleep in my arms while sitting around the campfire; everybody piling into our bed way too early in the morning; that glorious hour or more when all four kids are finally asleep (hal-le-lu-jah!!!) and it's just Kris and me around the fire...and we get to, like, talk and actually listen to each other. :) It's...nice.
Anyways, Thursday after some swimming time, we went to visit my grandma at the cottage since it was such a short drive away. We chatted, and the kids enjoyed rice krispie treats and milk! (There's Jayce's lip thing again.)
We never hit the playground on our last trip here, so that was our first stop on Friday morning.

Didn't really take a whole lot of pictures the rest of the weekend. These few are from Saturday morning inside the camper.

We ended our evening around the campfire, of course! Our kids love spending time with their cousin, and Tae Tae will make such a great big brother.

Jax reminds me of Will when he was younger in some of these pictures. I've thought before of Brody too. Not sure what, specifically, but they sometimes look similar. :)
Oh, and I love Emmy's sandals... and Jaycer's lip. ;)
