Over the last couple weeks Brody has gotten himself into a new routine. He wakes up from his nap, gets a snack from Daddy, and sits in front of his bedroom window waiting for me to pull into the driveway. I tutor after school two days a week, so sometimes he is waiting patiently for over an hour. He does get down to play around a bit, but he always makes it back to his perch (the stool that goes with his drum set) in time to see me pulling in.

And how does it feel to finally get home and see his little body in the window? Um, kinda like that heart-skips-a-beat, smile-plastered-all-over-your-face, fireworks-shooting-through-the-air-on-the-Fourth-of-July feeling. You know it?
Just another one of the many, many moments that make all the tough stuff worth it.
