Trips to the Zoo

We've enjoyed a couple trips to the zoo so far this summer. The first one was actually at the end of May. I just love having the membership because we never feel any pressure to race through and see as much as we can in one visit. On this day, we were able to check out the hippos, the new Tembo Trail elephant exhibit, the monkeys, and the reptile house.

We got to walk around the zoo with buddies Brayden and Logan and their momma, Amy.

On our recent visit after Jayce's appointment (June 19th), we spent most of our time at Nature's Neighborhood. Took these pics while waiting for everyone to use the potty!

In love with this pic...

It was early and already warm out, so the kids definitely enjoyed their time exploring the little stream they have there. The older three helped to build a dam with a couple of the employees--they are just great with little ones!

I bet Jax was thinking...Man, they have time-outs everywhere we go!

They all had soaking wet pants here!

When I picked Jayce up out of this baby play area, he was soaked, too! Turns out there was a hole popped in that lining, and all the water was leaking out.

The kids wanted to check out the elephants again, and we were able to be soooo close to one!

This picture is not zoomed in at all...we were right next to him! The kids loved it. Good times!

Aren't there so many things that bring back memories from our trips to the zoo when we were little?! I love the pics of all 4 in the honeycombs, and is Kris attempting to pick the elephant's nose or something lol
